Senior ports subject matter expert Jose Garcia de la Guia represented NextPort during the kick-off of the SAFARI Ports project in Lille the week of June 17th.

SAFARI, a €6.2 million initiative focused on developing safe and climate-resilient infrastructure, is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program. It brings together 24 organizations from nine countries, including France, Spain, Greece, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Portugal, Lebanon, and Italy.

Many ports and terminals are being challenged by extreme weather events that threaten their business continuity - next generation decision-making tools will provide predictive and prescriptive capabilities. Together with the project partners, NextPort will deploy our DigitalTwin product that will enhance operational resilience in the Ports of Seville, Dunkirk and Lisbon.

We are proud to make a meaningful contribution to Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 - TIC4.0 with the whitepaper publication on automation via Dr. Oscar Pernia, which will be presented at the upcoming CTAC conference hosted by Port Technology International - PTI.

With this whitepaper as a starting point, TIC4.0 aims to propel terminal automation to the next level via standardization and interoperability. 

Conceiving digitalization as a pre-requisite, TIC4.0 establishes some guidelines in the industry to ease automation and facilitate associated system Integration: establishing a pre-defined data and interfaces core to ensure technology solutions will function properly.

We're thrilled to announce that NextPort was selected for the Ports 4.0 program! This is an important milestone for NextPort as it allows us to deploy and further validate our Digital Twin Product at the Ports of Algeciras, Santander, and Huelva.
